Man Who Tried To Light Neighbor's Door On Fire Claims He Saw Ghost

Police in California arrested a man who tried to light a family's door on fire after he thought he saw a ghost. The family was sleeping when 38-year-old Cuong Pham, who lives across the street, went up to their door and poured nearly two gallons diesel fuel on the door before trying to set it on fire.

There were a woman and two children sleeping at the time, and they did not realize anything was wrong until a few hours later when they reviewed the video footage from their doorbell camera. They immediately recognized the man and called the police.

They told the officers that this was not the first incident they have had with Pham, who has a history of drug use and mental illness. A few days earlier he rang their doorbell numerous times while pacing back forth.

Pham was arrested and is facing charges of arson and attempted murder. He told authorities that he did not have anything against the family and wanted to apologize for his actions.

"They arrested him," the homeowner told Fox 40. "He said that he didn't have anything against us, that he thought he saw a ghost in our house and to me that's just even scarier."
